Mayor Annise Parker with Translation Source CEO Camilo Munoz

We are very proud to announce that our Founder and CEO Camilo Munoz has been selected to accompany Mayor Annise Parker as part of a 30-member delegation of local elected officials, business and community leaders on a week-long Greater Houston Partnership investment and trade mission to Panama City and Colon in Panama and Bogota, Barranquilla and Cartagena in Colombia.

“This trip has a strong focus on the Port of Houston and the increased opportunity the entire Houston region will experience once the expansion of the Panama Canal is finished in 2016,” said Mayor Parker.  “Due to the canal improvements and ongoing development along Interstate 69, Houston will be perfectly positioned to provide a faster and more cost-effective route for shippers to navigate in moving products and manufacturing supplies across the country.  Of course, this mission will also facilitate the usual high level meetings between Houston based businesses and their counterparts in Panama and Columbia, and help reaffirm Houston as a premier leisure and business travel destination in the U.S.”The Panama portion of the mission will include a visit to the Panama Canal as well as meetings with the acting mayor of the Panama City; the vice president and foreign minister; the ministers of energy, economy and finance; the Panama Maritime Authority and other local business leaders. In Colombia, the mayor will meet with the mayors of Bogota and Cartagena, the minister of commerce, industry and tourism, the minister of education, the mayor of Barranquilla and the Barranquilla Port Authority, the ministry of transportation and infrastructure and business leaders. In both Panama City and Bogota, there will be interviews with local media and opportunities to visit with business leaders about investment opportunities in Houston.
